Through special processing, the underside of nubuck leather is given a velvety soft feel, then turned inside-out to give the upper a luxe look and feel.

Beautiful blue suede shoes

The Bend low deacon is a beautiful shoe. Suede is exquisitely soft on feet and the pressure points of seams are virtually non existent from first wear. The colour of the suede is a beautiful blue, so I practically live in these shoes. They have a “sneaker” style sole, but are more shoe-like in style than sneaker like. I have about 9 pairs of Birks and I couldn’t live without them. But these are special. ( note theydo NOT have a padded upper, tongue or or at achilles heel spot, like the other bend styles - the suede is really soft so not necessary - which makes them much more shoe like in style ).
