Birkenstock Classic Fit Details

Birkenstocks are available in Regular (R) or Narrow (N) widths. Regular is suitable for people with regular to wide feet, while Narrow is suitable for people with Narrow feet. We recommend opting for Regular if you are unsure.

This Birkenstock runs true to size. We recommend sticking with your usual size and refer to the Size Guide if you are unsure.

This Birkenstock provides support features including longitudinal, metatarsal and transverse arch support, a heel cup and mold, and raised toe bar for basic orthotic support.

Birkenstock Classic Size Guide

How to find your size

Step 1

Stand on a level floor with your heel up against the wall or straight edge.

Step 2

Place a ruler or measuring tape on the floor under your foot or alongside it, with your heel at 0cm.

Step 3

Measure the length of your foot from your heel to the end of your longest toe (yes, even if it's your second toe).

Step 4

Measure both feet and go with the length of your longest foot if they are different.

Step 5

Add 10mm to your foot length to allow your foot room to move. This will give you the footbed length you need to find your size.

Step 6

Check out the size charts below to find your size in EU (all Birkenstock sizes are listed in EU).

Step 7

Measure the width of your foot across the broadest point. Compare your foot width measurement to the footbed width in your size to see if you will need a narrow or regular width. (If you are in between sizes, we recommend going for the larger size)

Most Birkenstock styles are available in 'regular' or 'narrow' width.

Narrow width is suitable for narrow to slender feet.

Regular width is suitable for normal to wide feet.

If you already own a pair of Birkenstocks or are trying them on in store - check out the little foot symbol on the footbed. If the foot is coloured in, it's a narrow (N). If it's just an outline of a foot, it's a regular (R).

    Don't last!

    I bought these as my work shoes (nursing). Wearing 3 days a week and for 7 months a crack appeared on the top of both shoes.

    The paint wears off quickly making them look untidy.

    My colleague who has the same pair has done the exact same thing.

    For thr amount I paid, this is extremely disappointing.
