Birkenstock Fit Details

This shoe is a standard width and suitable for people with regular width feet.

This shoe runs true to size. We recommend sticking with your usual size.

This shoe provides advanced support features, such as a contoured footbed with longitudinal, metatarsal and transverse arch support, heel cup and mould, and raised toe bar to provide basic orthotic support.

How to find your size

Step 1

Stand on a level floor with your heel up against the wall or straight edge.

Step 2

Place a ruler or measuring tape on the floor under your foot or alongside it, with your heel at 0cm.

Step 3

Measure the length of your foot from your heel to the end of your longest toe (yes, even if it's your second toe).

Step 4

Measure both feet and go with the length of your longest foot if they are different. If you are in between sizes, we recommend going for the larger size.

Step 5

Check out the size charts below to find your size. All sizes listed are either in US or EU, depending on the brand.

Most Birkenstock styles are available in 'regular' or 'narrow' width.

Narrow width is suitable for narrow to slender feet.

Regular width is suitable for normal to wide feet.

If you already own a pair of Birkenstocks or are trying them on in store - check out the little foot symbol on the footbed. If the foot is coloured in, it's a narrow (N). If it's just an outline of a foot, it's a regular (R).

    Only the best will do

    I've been wearing this style of Birkenstock for many years. They're the only sandal that gives my feet the support they need. They don't look like "old lady" shoes but this old lady is very comfortable. I wear them as inside slides and summer sandals. They are easy to clean, don't get smelly and mold to my foot shape. I've always worn black but this muted grey is a fantastic change. So difficult to get my size in Australia; these 35s fit perfectly.

    Great addition for summer

    Was looking for something with more support for the beach/pool over summer and these fit the bill. The colour is pink without being PINK. Sizing for me is the same as the ‘usual’ Birkenstocks.
